Andrew Semple (b.1827) and his wife Catherine Nichols?(1825) immigrated to the US from Scotland in 1868 with 8 children. Scottish census records state he was born in Ayshire but was living in Govan, Renfrewshire in 1851 and 1861. He and his family lived in Utica, New York until some of them moved to Kansas. Would love to be in touch with relatives remaining in Scotland. Gramma always stressed they were "English Semples."

John Murphy was born in Ireland around 1790. He immigrated to the US and married Elizabeth McClain from PA or MI. They had 6 children--William, Elvira, Albert, Moses, Mary Jane, and Almarinda. John and Elizabeth died in Missouri between 1850 & 1860 we think. John was in St. Charles County,MO by 1822. I have no idea of his earlier days.
